Accreditation
Preschool of the Arts is licensed as a child care center by the
state of Wisconsin. We are reviewed several times annually to insure compliance with all regulations in the state code. Biannual fees are paid to the state based on the number of students we are licensed to serve.
We are accredited by the
City of Madison Office of Community Services. This means we are a program that maintains certain high quality standards in terms of environment, program, administration, and interactions between staff, parents and children. The city provides this recognition only upon completion of a thorough examination of the child care center with many visits to classrooms. A review of the administration of the school and activities of the board of directors is completed as well. Grants are provided to child care centers from the city for these accredited centers only.
PSA follows guidelines for teacher/student ratios for its accreditations. Each room has two co-teachers and one assistant. These teams are complemented throughout the day by the addition of art and music specialists.
